About Saptami
"Music unwraps the heart, sings out the prayer, dances the spirit and opens the soul"

Welcome to Saptami – an endeavor to pursue the cause and passion for Indian culture, heritage and music. India is a treasure trove of knowledge and divinity using the medium and expression of music over hundreds of years.
Timeless epics like the Bhagavad Gita contain a huge wealth of knowledge needing perhaps more than a lifetime to dissect, assimilate and understand the depth of meaning contained within.
Many saints and musicians through the ages have nurtured and furthered this rich legacy. Many Daasas in Karnataka and other saints across India have used the power of Bhajans and Daasa sahitya to articulate the timeless wisdom in a simple manner that the common man can appreciate.
Indian (Hindusthani) classical music evolved through the temples and royal courts across India over hundreds of years. This music genre is truly a delight to appreciate and savor the various moods and expressions in different unique styles conveyed through the various Gharanas.
Many writers in the state of Karnataka have also beautifully captured their thoughts in light music compositions like Bhavageethe.
Saptami is a platform to celebrate the beauty and divinity of this rich legacy that we should all be proud of.
Why Saptami? Saptami symbolises the 'Saptaswaraas', the 7 essential notes of music. Saptami also stands for the auspicious 7th day of Navratri when the goddess Saraswathi (who imparts knowledge) is worshipped. Saptami is also significant for worshipping the sun God, the eternal source of energy. Hope you like visiting this site and take back a slice of this rich heritage through Saptami.
